These terms govern use of StewardWell (the "Service"), operated by Architect Ministry Solutions LLC ("AMS"), Queen Creek, Arizona. By using the Service — as a donor, or as staff of a participating organization — you agree to them.
What the Service is
StewardWell provides online giving, gift record-keeping, statements, and accounting tools for churches and ministry organizations. Each organization is the merchant of record for gifts made to it: payments are processed by Stripe into the organization's own Stripe account and bank account. AMS never takes custody of donated funds; a platform fee is deducted per transaction as disclosed to the organization.
Donations
- Gifts are voluntary contributions to the organization you select, and are generally not refundable by StewardWell. Refund requests are decided by the receiving organization.
- Receipts and statements are provided on behalf of the organization; tax-deductibility is determined by the organization's status and applicable law.
- Fees. Each gift carries Stripe's processing fee and a StewardWell platform fee, both deducted from the organization's payout and disclosed to the organization in advance. A donor may choose to add an amount to cover those costs; that addition is voluntary, is shown before you pay, and is recorded as part of your gift.
- Recurring gifts repeat on the schedule you chose until you cancel. You can cancel at any time by contacting the organization or hello@stewardwell.giving; cancellation stops future charges and does not refund past ones.
- Steward Wall cards. Taking a card online is a one-time gift of the card's amount. Reserving a card to pay by cash or check is a pledge, not a payment: no money moves until the organization receives and records it, and the organization may release an unpaid card.
- You are responsible for the accuracy of information you submit when giving, including the email address receipts are sent to.
Donor accounts
A donor account lets you see your giving history and print statements. Keep your sign-in private; you are responsible for activity under your account. Statements reflect the organization's records and are provided for your convenience; the organization's records control in case of a discrepancy.
Organization accounts
- Organizations are responsible for their staff users, their fund and statement configuration, and the accuracy of records they enter.
- Organizations accept Stripe's Connected Account Agreement when they connect their Stripe account, and are the merchant of record for gifts made to them.
- Organizations control connections to their own third-party systems (such as QuickBooks Online or a CRM) and authorize StewardWell to exchange records with those systems on their behalf.
- Organizations own their data. On request they receive a complete export in standard formats, and our Privacy Policy describes how we handle, retain, and delete it.
- Organizations are responsible for complying with the laws that apply to their fundraising and for the content of their giving pages and walls.
Acceptable use
Don't misuse the Service: no unlawful activity, no attempts to breach security or access others' data, no automated scraping or bulk reservation of wall cards, and no interference with the platform's operation. We may suspend access that we reasonably believe violates these terms.
Our content and yours
StewardWell's software, design, and name belong to AMS. Logos, text, and images an organization uploads remain the organization's, and it grants AMS permission to display them on its giving pages and walls for as long as it uses the Service.
Service and liability
The Service is provided "as is." We work to keep it accurate, secure, and available, but AMS does not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation. To the maximum extent permitted by law, AMS's aggregate liability arising from the Service is limited to the platform fees paid to AMS for the transaction(s) giving rise to the claim. AMS is not a party to the donor's gift, which is solely between the donor and the organization.
Changes and termination
We may update these terms or the Service; material changes will be posted here with a new effective date. Organizations may end their use of the Service per their agreement with AMS, and their data remains exportable in standard formats.
